Prosthetic dentistry

A large part of our work belongs to the complex branch of dentistry called prosthetics: the replacement, reshaping and restoration of lost hard and soft tissues. With prosthetic restorations we do more than rebuild the function of the teeth – we make sure each restoration is tailored to the individual's facial structure, expressions and the aesthetics of their smile.

We know how strongly the appearance of the teeth and mouth shapes a person's confidence and the way they step into the world. At the same time, prosthetic solutions restore the proper function of the stomatognathic system – the correct relationship between the teeth, the periodontal tissues, the muscles, the joints and both jaws.

We turn to prosthetics when teeth are heavily worn, damaged or aesthetically compromised, or when a tooth is missing. Patients often come with difficulty chewing, sensitive teeth, cracking fillings, a changing bite or dissatisfaction with the look of their smile.

Prosthetic solutions are also the answer in extensive rehabilitations, where the correct bite height must be re-established and the remaining teeth protected for the long term. Such cases demand precise diagnostics, careful planning and an interdisciplinary approach, aiming for balance between function, aesthetics and the health of the periodontal tissues.

With modern technology, our approach to complex cases of severe tissue loss begins at the diagnostic stage. Using a digital scanner and a precise dental camera we can predict the final appearance before any major procedure takes place.

By synchronising the photographs with the digital scans of both jaws we determine the correct future position of the teeth – instead of preparing the teeth first and deciding their position later. This makes treatment more predictable and less invasive, often reducing the need for additional grinding.

The patient gains a clear picture of the final result before treatment starts, and understands the goal of the whole rehabilitation more easily. Modern technology also brings a more precise fit of the restorations, shorter visits and smoother collaboration with the dental laboratory – all of which adds to the quality and longevity of the final work.

Far more than a more beautiful smile. Well-planned prosthetic solutions improve chewing, stabilise the bite, relieve overloaded teeth and help prevent further wear and damage.

Confidence usually grows along the way, as patients speak, eat and laugh freely again. The goal of modern prosthetics is not an “artificial” look but a natural, harmonious smile in tune with the face and personality.

Beyond extensive reconstructions, prosthetics covers a range of treatments we perform regularly:

  • dental veneers
  • overlays and onlays
  • crowns
  • bridges (on teeth and on implants)
  • complete dentures (including implant-supported)
  • partial dentures

Partial and complete removable dentures form an important part of prosthetics, above all where many teeth and much supporting tissue have been lost. Removable dentures replace not only the teeth but also the lost bone ridge and soft tissues – supporting the lips, the look of the face, speech and chewing alike.

Their lifespan depends on the quality of the work, on oral hygiene and on regular check-ups. With proper care, modern prosthetic solutions serve for many years. It also matters that the patient understands the importance of healthy gums and regular monitoring of the bite – that is what keeps the whole rehabilitation stable in the long run.
