Invisalign
Invisalign, the most refined system of invisible braces, is what we use at Stomatoestetika Ovsenik. It is a system of transparent, removable aligners made to measure for each individual and their orthodontic irregularity. The aligners move the teeth into the desired position gradually and in a controlled way. The whole course of treatment is computer-planned in advance, making the therapy remarkably precise and predictable.
The main advantage of Invisalign over traditional fixed braces is its aesthetics. The aligners are nearly invisible, so treatment proceeds discreetly and confidently – especially important for adults and teenagers who do not want a conspicuous appliance. Invisalign is also removable: you take it out to eat and to clean your teeth. Oral hygiene is therefore much easier, and the risk of caries and gum inflammation lower than with fixed braces.
Another important advantage is comfort. With no metal brackets or wires there is less irritation of the oral lining, and any discomfort is usually milder. Treatment also tends to require fewer visits to the dentist. Invisalign combines modern technology, function and aesthetics – an effective, patient-friendly alternative to traditional braces.
The duration depends on the degree of irregularity. Treatment takes 6–18 months on average. Each aligner is usually worn for 7 to 14 days, 20 to 22 hours a day. The exact duration is set by the dentist after an examination and an analysis of your bite.
Invisalign suits most mild to moderately demanding irregularities (crowding, gaps, rotations, open or deep bite). Very complex cases may call for additional orthodontic methods or combined therapy. Suitability is always decided by the dentist after an examination and analysis.
After treatment you will need to wear retainers to keep the result you have achieved. Without retention the teeth can gradually drift back. Wearing your retainers consistently keeps your smile stable for the long term.
Act as soon as you can. Depending on the stage of treatment we will advise you to wear the previous or the next aligner for the time being, and order a replacement if needed.
