Dental veneers
Deciding on ceramic veneers is not merely an aesthetic procedure but a process that calls for precise planning, experience and a feel for the individual – which is why choosing the right practice matters so much. At Stomatoestetika Ovsenik we devote ourselves to every patient individually, because we believe the final result must be in tune with the face, its expressions and the person's wishes. What sets our approach apart is that we design the final look before the procedure even begins – using the Digital Smile Design (DSD) technique, where a dental camera and a digital scanner let us create a precise visualisation of your future smile. You can see in advance how you will look with veneers, and co-create the result with us. We also work under a microscope, which allows exceptional precision and minimally invasive preparation, preserving as much natural tooth structure as possible. This combination of technology, knowledge and an individual approach ensures that your new smile is not only aesthetically refined but healthy and natural in the long run.
Ceramic veneers are thin, custom-made shells of premium dental ceramic that are permanently bonded to the front surface of the teeth. They are designed to correct aesthetic imperfections such as discolouration, wear, irregular shape, gaps between the teeth or mild misalignment. Each veneer is shaped individually to the facial features, skin tone and wishes of the patient, allowing a fully personalised, natural-looking smile.
Making ceramic veneers is minimally invasive and painless for most patients. In most cases only a very thin layer of enamel is removed to make room for the veneer. Local anaesthesia is used where needed so that the procedure is entirely comfortable. Mild sensitivity may appear after placement, but it usually fades quickly. The whole process is designed to preserve as much natural tooth structure as possible.
Ceramic veneers are known for their durability and long life. With good oral hygiene and regular dental visits they can last for many years. It is important to avoid habits such as biting hard objects (ice, pencils) or opening packaging with your teeth. A night guard is also recommended for patients who grind their teeth, as it further extends the life of the veneers.
One of the greatest advantages of ceramic veneers is their remarkably natural appearance. Modern ceramics mimic the optical properties of natural enamel very closely, reflecting and transmitting light much like real teeth. Colour, shape and size are tailored to the individual, so veneers do not look artificially white – they complement the face and the smile in harmony. The goal is not perfection but natural aesthetics that bring out your personality.
Ceramic veneers are highly resistant to staining – a great advantage over natural teeth. The material does not absorb pigments from food and drink such as coffee, tea or red wine, so it keeps its colour over the years. Good oral hygiene still matters, though, as deposits can build up along the edges of the veneers or on the neighbouring natural teeth. Regular cleaning and professional hygiene keep the whole smile bright and well groomed.
